These are a Few of My Favorite Things...

Last summer, I conned my new friend Kerry into coming Garage Saling with me (i love that word keeps trying to correct the word "Saling" telling me it doesn't exist. It TOTALLY exists...Saling is like the best word ever...especially after the word Garage.)

Anyway, back to Kerry...she wasn't thrilled about it, being as she had NEVER been to one and mostly paid full price for everything.  She confided she once brought a $16 placemat from some expensive baby store for her son as she didn't know where else to buy them.

Oh...was I on a mission to show her a WHOLE NEW WORLD!

So, off we went last summer, garage saling with an open mind and wallet.  Needless to say...by the second Garage Sale we hit Kerry turns to me and exclaims 'THIS IS THRILLING!"

Hooked....lol  That was like catching fish in a bucket.

So, she has become my avid Garage Sale Friend...however, she still says she feels nauseous entering some Thrift Stores (note to self, bring Gravol for Kerry).

Recently we hit an Antique Sale and found some AMAZING things.  Here are some deets:

I cannot BELIEVE I scored this rare "Moon Deco" Pattern...for 8 BUCKS!
I think this may have been the best deal I've ever found.

Griffiths Spice Rack...adore....

I
I found these 2 cute mugs and had to have them.

I was actually given this mug from a girl who I bought some things off of, love it and use it for my herbal tea all the time.  People are so nice. :)
I snapped up this ADORABLE apron...was going to sell it on
the Vintage Pink Sink but I just couldn't part with it.

My new Pyrex Bestie in Vernon snapped up this for me.  OMG!  ARE YOU KIDDING ME?  I had 3 customers who wanted it but after feeling extreme anxiety..I just couldn't let it go.  Love love LOVE it.

This was a Promotional Chip and Dip set, I grabbed the large bowl even though it's missing the small bowl and holder..who cares, it's GORGEOUS.  Look at the blue on the inside of the bowl...and it's not painted on, the glass is actually blue.  sigh...

Pyrex Jackpot

Last week my girlfriend from Winnipeg (the "Peg") was out to visit.  Usually, when "Plenny" (Jen) comes into town, some kinda trouble gets a brewin'.

Ooooh...it did.

We attacked, and won.  I found TONS of Pyrex, vintage glassware and other crazy stuff.  Most of which already sold!  Check out my pics below:

This crazy Gnome Cookie Jar...had no idea who would love it like I did...turns out a lot of people did!

I seriously have a HOARDING issue...

I just LOVE Horizon pattern...so pretty.

Is it a problem when the Thrift store employees know you by name?

Ella...my Pyrex Partner.  She loves getting in on the pictures.

Friendship Pattern was only made for 4 years, I learned that from my awesome friends who deal in Pyrex, Peter and Rita.  It's quickly becoming one of my fav's.

Here are some Organic Blueberry Muffins (no sugar!) I made..they taste better in my new Hearts Pyrex Casserole Dish...so pretty.
This little suitcase was in basically new condition, came with the bottles and brush set, adorable.
This was the first set I ever bought, and I still love to use it every day. :)

Pink Stripes are the New Black

Everything looks better in stripes...especially PINK PYREX STRIPED BOWLS!!!  OMG I FOUND ONE!

It was a lazy sunday afternoon and I just thought to myself "Hey, I haven't searched Craigslist for at least 35 minutes"...that's how it started.  So, 2 hours later after looking in Portland, Texas, Arizona, (why I even look here I have no clue...like I'd pay shipping.NOT) then meandering onto Vancouver CR I found a little ad that said 'teak furniture and more".  Low and behold..I see a bookcase, with a primary bowl set on it (however, it was in rough shape) and there, below that...was....a gorgeous glimmering pink striped bowl.

My mouth went dry.

My fingers went numb.

I typed...as fast as I could, to beat out anyone else who didn't have a life that sunday afternoon and spent the day searching CR for treasures.

And...waited....not so patiently (patience is not a virtue, totally over rated).

Finally, VOILA! For 5 BUCKS!

Here it is on my table...so pretty!

And...what did I find later that day?  Oh my little Snowflake Garland Divided dish..you can't be missed on that thrift store shelf hiding behind some crummy plastic bowls!

Earlier that week I was in one of my fav hot spots for deals and this was sitting on the floor, very dirty.  I have zippadeedooda clue about vintage toys but thought it was too cool and Ella would love it.  It's a Tonka Winnibago.  I brought it home for $8 bucks...and cleaned it up.  Ella ADORES it (currently her smurf collection is camping in it).  And...to boot, it's going for $50 on Ebay.  Love deals!

I found these pretty bowls for a friend and made a friend buying them!  Jen was so great, she had these bowls and the 2 matching casserole dishes.  I hoarded the casserole dishes for myself they were SO gorgeous.  I'll have to do a whole Blog on Jen, she's like the most creative person EVER.

Believe it or not, I have a ton of Pyrex but have NEVER used them to bake or cook anything.  Finally, I decided to break some in.  On the left is my new Horizon Blue and the right is Pressed Flowers.

Now I know why people LOVE vintage Pyrex in the kitchen.  I have NEVER had my lasagna turn out better, nor can I believe how easy it was to clean!  The burnt grimy (because heh, let's face it girls, I'm no cook) lasagna bits practically oozed right off themselves.  One swipe under hot water and it was clean.

Un - fricken - real.

Love My Pyrex...double sigh....

Pyrex Pals

Pyrex oh Pyrex how I love thee....  Since I started my little Facebook Store I have had such a GREAT time!  It's been so much fun.  I got an email last week from another girl who collects and sells it in the Okanagan, Colleen.  It's like we're living parallel lives!  She's basically my new BFF.  She was in town this week for work so we met up and traded some items.  Here are some of my new treasures:

She's a wealth of Pyrex knowledge..I didn't even know Pyrex was not only made in the USA but also in Canada! (and England and Australia)

Everyone needs more butter in their life.

Isn't this the PRETTIEST Friendship casserole dish?

I snagged this one from my other new friends Rita and Peter, they deal in Pyrex too.

Drooling....

All that and she was sweet enough to treat me to a Starbucks!  I'm so lucky to have met such great people, what started out as a little collection of Pyrex has turned into a big collection of friends!

I GOT GOOSED

PINK GOOSEBERRY!

Ahhh, just the mere word PINK makes me dream of all things pretty.  This year, for my birthday, my hubby and daughter surprised me with a pretty pink small Gooseberry casserole dish.  I LOVE IT!

It's my very first piece of Gooseberry, and I'm thrilled.

Here's my updated collection at January 2013..omg I seriously sit on the couch sometimes with a glass of wine and just look at it. xo

I found this RARE Golden Grapes XL Chip and Dip (dip has yet to be found) in an antique store and grabbed it for $18 bucks.  I almost kissed the store owner...come to think of it, that may have gotten me a better price...

Thrifty Thrifty look what's Nifty!

Yesterday, on an adventure we did embark,
Shannon and I, got a very early start.
Off to find some Pyrex and treasures,
To vast amounts we could not measure.

We scoured the countryside with Starbucks in hand,
Holy moly it was nothing but grand,
She scored some great bowls first, Woodland pattern I believe,
But oh, I had some surprises up my sleeve.

The jackpot I hit, what treasures I found,
some even sitting right there on the ground!

So today, here's my blog, about my fun day,
and to my Facebook Store, these are on the way!

These are JAJ Pyrex from England...oh so pretty!!!
I love this cute little oil and vinegar jar!

Major score, Pyrex stand!

I cheated on Pyrex, this is Fire King but I knew someone who would ADORE it!
 Pink Pyrex Pie Plate...PERFECTLY  PRETTY!
Strawberry Shortcake and her morning coffee.

Need a "Friend" for this Friendship pattern bowl anyone?
When I saw this milk jug I almost fainted....  The girl at the register says she remembers getting her milk in these on the farm.  OK, I'm fainting now.
Are you kidding me?  I LOVE THIS!  Might have to keep this one!  Darling Aqua chip and dip bowl, it's so hard to find them with the dip holder!
